Smarch
How it works

From one application to a matched team — to work that is actually yours.

One survey, a fair queue, a matched team, and a structured programme paced over ~6 weeks. Here is the whole journey, honestly.

Current focus

We are currently onboarding people working in — or aiming for — IT and software development, media production and digital content, and video game development and interactive media.

If you work in another field, you can still register — we'll let you know when it's your turn.

Application window

We are between batches right now.

You can register and submit your survey anytime — your application waits in the queue and joins the next matching round. We'll email you when it opens.

The rules

One application. A genuinely fair queue.

No re-applying, no cover letters, no being filtered out by a keyword. You apply once, and the queue works for the people who need it most.

One application

Submit once and stay in matching rounds until you're matched — or until you choose to step back. You can update your profile or withdraw at any time. Both are always okay.

Fair queue

The queue prioritises the people who have been searching longest — not the people who applied last. Before each round we check your availability, and we email you when it's your turn.

The process

Four steps from application to a working team.

1

Complete the survey

Real questions about who you are, what you can do, and what kind of work is actually yours. You can save your progress and come back anytime.

  • Your industry expertise and focus areas
  • Your role preference — tech, business, or creative
  • Your availability and commitment level
  • Your top skills and experience
2

Get matched

We form complementary teams — weighing skills, experience, availability and team dynamics together, so the team works as a whole.

  • Balanced teams with diverse expertise
  • Complementary skills — co-founders, not clones
  • Availability and commitment taken seriously
  • The longest-searching participants go first
3

Join your team

Your team invitation arrives by email. Review your teammates, accept, and step into your team's own portal.

  • Meet your team members and their backgrounds
  • Access your private Team Portal
  • Schedule your first team meeting — a video call
  • Start shaping the idea together
4

Build together

A structured programme paced over ~6 weeks — your team moves at its own speed. Every week has a deliverable, a meeting, and staff support.

  • Foundation: vision, problem definition, team roles
  • Development: product direction, market research, solution
  • Launch prep: validation, delivery planning, budget
  • Outcome: a registered company — or an honest reason it didn't work
What you get

Everything a new team needs to make real progress.

A complementary team

Matched for skills that reinforce each other and a direction you can share — co-founders, not coworkers.

Structured collaboration

Weekly deliverables, meetings and staff feedback that keep the team moving without rushing it.

A team portal

A dedicated collaboration space with meetings, resources, progress tracking and direct staff support.

Ecosystem access

Part of the Valleyberg ecosystem — mentors, experts and fellow builders around your team.

Quick answers

The three questions everyone asks first.

Is Smarch a job board?

No. Nobody is hiring you here. We match people with each other into co-founding teams — you are building work that didn't exist before.

What does it cost?

Nothing — ever. Smarch is a Swedish ideell förening, a nonprofit, permanently. We never take money from participants.

What happens after I submit?

You enter the matching queue. Matching runs weekly, longest-searching first. When you're matched, we introduce your team and invite you to a first call.
